Do your first (or 100th) triathlon

9.You always wonder what this whole triathlon thing is about but you’ve never quite decided to one yourself. First, let’s get some misconceptions out of the way: Not all triathlons are an Ironman (2.4 miles of swim, 112 miles of biking and a marathon’s worth of running) so it doesn’t need to be some massive event that’s going to take all your time. In fact, there are “Try-a-tri” events which are super short and can easily be finished in well under an hour. Don’t have a bike? Borrow one. Don’t know how to swim? Get in the pool and figure it out. Say to yourself, “I’m just a runner/cyclist/couch potato and I’m fine with that”? We call bullshit. Triathlon is a fantastic sport and a fantastic community. Get out there and do one! Here’s a link with a guy you may recognize telling you what gear you need for your first triathlon: WHAT DO I NEED FOR MY FIRST TRIATHLON
